Cassilhaus Artist in Residence Fellowship

I was invited to be an artist in residence at Cassilhaus in Chapel Hill in October, 2021. This was truly a dream come true. My hosts Ellen Cassilly and Frank Konhaus provide an extraordinary creative residency experience. This was a unique residency for me as it included community engagement. The project I REMEMBER conceived earlier this year in the isolation of the pandemic was created during this residency experience.

I found the Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Durham communities to be very supportive of the arts. You can read more about the I Remember project on this website.

Elizabeth Stone

Visual artist Elizabeth Stone's work explores perception and time by combining her study of photography and drawing with biology. The duality of art and science is a strong influence when considering her own place in the world and the marks that she makes.
